The CV Agency takes the privacy and security of customer data very seriously and adheres to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy policy statement pertains to the use of personal data by The CV Agency, outlining how that data is used and the steps taken to safeguard data privacy rights.

Who are The CV Agency?

Why does The CV Agency process personal data?

The CV Agency processes personal data exclusively for the purposes of:

  • Providing advice on job and academic application documents (i.e. curricula vitae, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and personal statements) and preparing such documents on customers’ behalf. The CV Agency is not a recruitment agency and personal information is not shared with any employer or third party, in line with this privacy policy.

Legal Basis for Processing:

The legal basis for processing data is achieved through contractual necessity, as allowed by the GDPR. This means personal data can be processed on the basis that such processing is necessary to enter into or perform a contract or take precontractual steps requested by a data subject (e.g. reviewing a CV).

Storage & Security:

The CV Agency may store personal information for a short period of time in order to facilitate the preparation of documents and to make revisions on behalf of the customer.

The CV Agency is fully committed to the security of personal information and adheres to the privacy policy. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, procedural, physical and technical measures are in place to protect personal data on an ongoing basis. This includes security technology such as data encryption and secure destruction of data.

While The CV Agency takes all due care to ensure the privacy and integrity of personal information, it is acknowledged that data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. The possibility remains that this information could be unlawfully observed by a third party while in transit over the internet. The CV Agency (and its registered owner) accepts no liability should this occur.

Why does The CV Agency store personal information?

The CV Agency stores personal information to allow reasonable time for customers to review documents prepared for them and request revisions. Only data necessary for the purposes of providing application document services will be stored. Unnecessary information provided by customers (e.g. scans/photographs of academic certifications) are promptly destroyed.

Right of Access

Under the GDPR, customers of The CV Agency are entitled to be given a copy of their personal data held by The CV Agency and to correct any inaccuracies in that information. Requests to access this data can be made in writing to admin@cvagency.ie and should include a copy of identification. Requests will be processed within 30 days.

Right to be Forgotten

In certain circumstances (e.g. where personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose which is was originally processed for), individuals have the right to have their personal data erased. Requests for information to be deleted can be sent to admin@cvagency.ie or verbally by phoning 01 499 14 66. Requests will be processed within 30 days. The CV Agency uses digital file shredding software to ensure information is unrecoverable.

Right of Data Portability

Customers have the right to request The CV Agency to transfer their data to another data controller. At a customer’s request, The CV Agency will transfer the data on their behalf or provide a copy to them directly in a commonly used machine-readable format. Requests for information transferred can be sent to admin@cvagency.ie or verbally by phoning 01 499 14 66. Requests will be processed within 30 days.
